About the role:

As one of our Senior Rangers, you'll be responsible for supervising a team of operational staff, ensuring compliance with legislation and local laws, and delivering exceptional service to residents and visitors. You'll lead by example, manage investigations, and help shape a safe and welcoming environment across the district.

As the Senior Ranger you will:

  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to Ranger staff.
  • Oversee daily operations, patrols, and enforcement activities.
  • Investigate complaints and regulatory breaches and prepare legal documentation.
  • Attend court and tribunal proceedings as required.
  • Maintain the animal management facility and oversee related investigations.
  • Respond to after-hours calls and emergencies (on-call roster applies).
  • Promote community education and engagement around Ranger services.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Certificate IV in Government Investigations or equivalent.
  • ROCS 1 & 2 qualifications or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in local government Ranger services or similar regulatory roles.
  • Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to interpret legislation and manage statutory investigations.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills.

Pre-employment Requirements:

  • Current C Class Driver's Licence.
  • Current First Aid Qualification.
  • National Police Clearance (less than six months old).
  • Proof of right to work in Australia.
  • Must reside within or be available within the City of Busselton district when on-call.
