As a
Senior Quality Engineer
, you'll play a key role in testing Qantas' applications while also helping to shape and expand our test automation infrastructure. You'll contribute to the ongoing development of automation scripts and suites, and work on enhancing our continuous integration (CI) systems. With the freedom to identify and implement the best solutions, you'll also explore non-functional testing areas such as accessibility, performance, and security. You will also continuously improve our testing tools and refine our overall test approach. As part of our product operating model, collaboration is essential, you'll work closely with the team to design automated test cases and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
You'll Have
- 6+ years in enterprise QA roles, with direct relevant experience in automation testing for mobile and mobile back-end APIs
- A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Proven leadership in improving quality engineering processes and agile team collaboration
- Experience in BDD, CI, Git, and cloud platforms like AWS
- Skilled in test strategy, automation, and functional testing (unit, integration, E2E, UAT)
- Familiarity with accessibility standards for mobile apps and testing thereof
- Familiarity with mobile security best practices vulnerability scanning
- Strategies to recognise and deal with device and operating system fragmentation and ensure adequate test coverage
- Experience leading small QA teams and mentoring testers or QA analysts
- Proficient in mobile app automation, cross-browser testing, and container technologies
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and documentation skills, using tools like Miro, Jira and Confluence
- Confidence in leading go/no-Go decisions for releases
- Writing native mobile automation (XCUI and/or Espresso)
- Mobile network debugging using tools such as Proxyman or Charles
- Experience in some sort of scripting language
- Awareness of mobile OS differences, UI guidelines and platform-specific behaviour
- Strong understanding of challenges of mobile testing (backwards compatibility, versioning, offline behaviour, caching, battery usage, upgrade flow, migrations)
- Experience with testing on physical devices and simulators/emulators.
