Supermarket Cashier

About the role

This is a Supermarket Cashier role at Foodworks Melton, located in Melton, VIC 3337. You will be responsible for handling cash and card transactions, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout experience for our customers.

What you'll be doing

1. Operate the cash register and handle all types of payment transactions accurately and efficiently
2. Provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service, answering customer inquiries and assisting with bagging and packing purchases
3. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
4. Assist with inventory management and stocking shelves as required
5. Adhere to company policies, procedures and health and safety regulations

What we're looking for

1. Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role, preferably in a retail or supermarket environment. PRODUCE KNOWLEDGE IS ESSENTIAL. We have a large produce department, and all cashiers are required to have strong knowledge produce.
2. Strong numeracy and cash handling skills
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide outstanding customer service
4. Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
5. Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays
