Verification and Validation Engineer

We are seeking a passionate Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer to support a leading Australian Defence company delivering advanced mission-critical systems to the Australian Defence Force. This role is initially on contract with the potential to convert to permanent shortly after.
About the RoleReporting to the Electronic Verification & Validation Lead, you will:
- Assist in preparing all V&V documentation and test plans
- Conduct functional, acceptance, and environmental testing (MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-810)
- Perform system integration and automated test development
- Support production and quality teams with diagnostics, maintenance, and repair activities
- Record and report verification results against the Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM)
- Collaborate closely with engineering, project, and quality teams to deliver robust, validated solutions
About you:
- Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering
- Proficient in electronic design and schematic interpretation
- Hands-on engineer with strong technical curiosity and attention to detail, who thrives in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong soldering and prototyping skills
- Intermediate firmware/software skills for microcontroller integration
- Experience with Altium Designer
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1275, and MIL-STD-810 testing
- Designing and building electromechanical or automated test equipment
- Programming in C/C++, C#, Python, Java, or LabVIEW
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks
- Strong grasp of applied physics and mathematics for product testing
- Australian Citizenship is mandatory (NV1 security clearance eligibility required)
