Steward and Cleaner

About the role

Kenilworth Gardens' is seeking a passionate and experienced Steward and Cleaner to join our team in Bowral, NSW. This part-time role is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic retirement living environment and contribute to the smooth running of our resident dining operation.

As a Steward, you will play a vital role in ensuring our dining areas and kitchen are meticulously maintained, providing support to the cook and care and kindness to residents at all times. You will also be adept at maintaining a clean work environment in the kitchen and all public areas and rooms.

What you'll be doing

• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation, setting and clearing of the dining areas, including tables, chairs, and other furniture
• Cleaning the kitchen at the end of each shift, and cleaning communal areas.
• Ensuring all service equipment, glassware, and cutlery are clean, well-stocked, and ready for use
• Assisting the kitchen team with food preparation tasks as required
• Disposing of waste and recycling in a timely and environmentally-friendly manner
• Reporting any maintenance or repair issues to the management team
• Adhering to all health, safety, and hygiene standards
• Completing a full kitchen clean at the end of each day

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a Steward and Cleaner or in a similar role within the aged care or hospitality industry
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation
• Strong time management and multitasking abilities to handle the demands of a fast-paced environment
• A positive attitude and a willingness to work as part of a team
• Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations
• A kind and caring nature and an ability to communicate effectively with the elderly.

Kenilworth Gardens is a retirement village with 67 independent living villas and 16 serviced apartments situated on 12 acres of Old English Gardens, with the historic town of Bowral right at your doorstep. Serviced apartments residents have three meals per day served in the dining room and villa residents have the option to have meals delivered. There are also regular events that require catering.
