Role Overview

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer / Developer to support secure and reliable delivery of solutions for Defence and government clients. This role combines software development and systems engineering to automate infrastructure, streamline deployments, and enable secure system operations in high-assurance environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions to support government projects.
  • Develop scripts, APIs, and automation tools to assist with system integration and secure operations.
  • Implement and maintain containerised applications using Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, or Openshift.
  • Collaborate with project teams, system engineers, and security specialists to deliver secure and efficient solutions.
  • Apply secure coding practices and contribute to accreditation and compliance documentation where required.
  • Troubleshoot complex system and deployment issues in collaboration with client stakeholders.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience as a DevOps engineer, platform engineer, or software developer in complex ICT environments.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills (Python, Go, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Proficiency in containerisation and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) in secure environments.
  • Familiarity with configuration management and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or OpenTofu.
  • Understanding of Defence or government security standards including ISM, PSPF, and Essential Eight is highly regarded.
  • Australian Citizenship with an active security clearance (Minimum NV1 or higher preferred).
