Backhoe Operator

About the role

We're seeking a skilled and experienced Backhoe Operator to join our team at Said Earthmoving Pty Ltd in Little River, VIC. This is a casual position, potential fulltime for the right applicant. As a Backhoe Operator, you will play a crucial role in our construction projects, utilising your expertise to efficiently and safely operate heavy machinery.

What you'll be doing

1. Operate backhoe machinery to excavate, load, and move materials as required on construction sites
2. Conduct daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance on assigned equipment
3. Work closely with the construction team to ensure project timelines and safety protocols are met
4. Identify and report any mechanical issues or equipment malfunctions to the site supervisor
5. Maintain detailed records of work completed and hours worked

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 3 years' experience as a Backhoe Operator in the construction industry
2. Strong knowledge of backhoe operation, maintenance, and safety procedures
3. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the wider construction crew
4. Commitment to working safely and adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations
5. Valid Australian driver's licence and High-Risk Work Licence (Backhoe/Loader)
