About the role

Redline Automotive is seeking an exceptional and highly skilled Head Technician to be our workshop's technical leader in Winnellie, Northern Territory. As our Head Technician, you'll be our number one technician - the go-to expert for the most complex diagnostics and repairs. This is a full-time position with excellent compensation that reflects your expertise and unlimited opportunities for professional growth.

What you'll be doing

  • Serving as the workshop's technical expert, handling the most challenging diagnostics and repairs across all vehicle makes and models
  • Using advanced diagnostic equipment and cutting-edge techniques to solve complex vehicle issues
  • Providing technical mentorship and support to fellow technicians, sharing your expertise to elevate the entire team's capabilities
  • Leading by example in maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and efficiency
  • Taking ownership of the most difficult customer cases, providing expert solutions and accurate repair assessments
  • Collaborating with the workshop manager to ensure smooth workflow and quality outcomes
  • Staying at the forefront of automotive technology through continuous learning and development

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a qualified automotive technician with proven expertise in advanced diagnostics and complex repairs
  • Exceptional technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities - you're the person other technicians come to for help
  • Natural ability to mentor and share knowledge with team members
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to customers and colleagues
  • Passion for automotive excellence and commitment to staying current with evolving vehicle technologies
  • Strong work ethic and pride in delivering exceptional quality
  • Relevant trade qualification or certification in automotive technology
  • Diagnostic software proficiency and experience with modern vehicle systems
