We are seeking a highly skilled and security-minded
Avionics Component Workshop Technician
to support defence aviation operations in
Newcastle, NSW

Your role
Responsibilities
In this role, you will contribute directly in a defence sector by ensuring the reliability and serviceability of critical avionics systems. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electronic and avionics systems using advanced diagnostic and testing tools.
  • Perform precision repairs, calibration, and functional testing of circuit boards and avionics assemblies in accordance with industry and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain and service a range of avionics systems, including communication, navigation, surveillance, autopilot, and radar technologies integrated into mission-critical aviation platforms.
  • Record and maintain detailed documentation of maintenance, testing, and calibration work to meet quality assurance and compliance requirements.

Essential requirements

  • Relevant years of working experience as an Avionics Technician in the defence or related sector
  • Experience working on Lead-in Fighter aircraft
  • Cert IV Aeroskills (Avionics) and relevants MEAs
  • Australian citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain NV1 Australian Defence security clearance (visit AGSVA website for more information about Security Clearances)
  • AOD test prior to commencement of contract
