FMR Investments is currently seeking a Residential Truck Operator, based in the Goldfields region, to immediately join our team at an Open Pit Gold Mine. This role plays a vital part in achieving our development and production targets.

POSITION SUMMARY

• Based in the Goldfields, where FMR is delivering mining services at an Open-Pit Gold Mine (NO FIFO)

Roster Hours

• 10-hour shifts on a 5:2 roster

SUMMARY OF ROLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Truck Operator, you'll play a vital role in the safe and efficient transportation of ore, waste, and materials across the underground operation. This position requires a strong safety focus, mechanical awareness, and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment under variable and low-visibility conditions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Operate trucks to move ore and waste safely
• Complete pre-start checks and safety documentation
• Follow traffic protocols and communicate via two-way radio
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and assist with basic servicing

General Duties

• Be flexible and willing to undertake other tasks or labouring duties as directed.
• Maintain high personal standards of safety, performance, and teamwork.
• Work to achieve daily production targets in line with operational plans.
• Assist with water cart and service truck operations as required
• Participate in emergency drills and site safety meetings
• Support backfilling and waste haulage activities
• Follow supervisor instructions and shift plans

Equipment, Machinery, Systems & Tools

• Heavy haul trucks 777D Caterpillar
• Two-way radio systems
• Fire suppression systems and safety gear (PPE)

Administrative Documentation & Reporting

• Complete and submit daily pre-start checklists and shift handover paperwork.
• Log hours, load counts.
• Record and escalate maintenance issues in defect logs.
• Participate in toolbox meetings, and safety briefings.

Health, Safety, Compliance & Communication

• Adhere to all company policies, environmental standards, and site procedures (including the WHS Act & Regulations)
• Communicate effectively and complete all required documentation accurately and on time
• Conduct routine inspections to identify and control hazards

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Experience

• Previous experience as a Truck Operator essential

Education/Qualifications/ Licenses

Essential

• Valid Manual C Class Driver's Licence (minimum)
• Nationally Recognised Haul Truck Competency (e.g., RIIMPO338E or site-specific)
• Previous experience operating haul trucks in a mining or quarry environment
• HR licence or above

Desirable

• Exposure to different types of mobile plant (dozer, loader, water cart)
• Basic mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery
• First Aid Certification
