About the role

Oral Health & Beyond Collective, trading as DentalCareXtra & KIDS in the Mackay and Isaac Region is seeking a passionate and dedicated Casual Dental Assistant to join our team in Mackay, Queensland. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals in delivering high-quality dental services. The role offers a casual work arrangement, providing flexibility to balance your work and personal commitments.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting dentists during procedures by passing instruments, setting up equipment, and ensuring a smooth workflow, both in our clinics and at our regular general anaesthetic sessions
  • Cleaning, sterilising and maintaining dental instruments, our work environment and equipment as per infection control guidelines
  • Greeting and welcoming patients, making them feel comfortable, and providing outstanding customer service
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and updating treatment plans as needed
  • Performing a variety of administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing patient files
  • Ensuring the dental operatory is fully stocked and organized
  • Rostered shifts as required, Monday to Friday (no weekends or late nights at this time)
  • Additional hours and preference may be given to applicant open to work at both Mackay and Moranbah clinics (travel and accommodation provided)

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and patient-focused approach
  • Proactive with an excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively
  • Proficiency adapting/learning to dental equipment and software
  • Technically adept to handle computer based tasks
  • Commitment to continuing growth and development within the role
  • A positive attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care
