The Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified and registered Structural Engineer to join our growing QLD operations. This hands-on role involves steel design, site measurements, and sign-off for structural integrity and compliance. You will liaise directly with drafting staff, factory teams, and installation crews to bring projects from concept to completion. We will be going through the applications between the 17th November and the 23rd November. and having interviews on the following week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform structural analysis and design for steel structures, including mezzanine floors, stairs, and load-bearing elements
  • Undertake site inspections and accurate site measurements as required
  • Review and approve shop drawings and drafting output
  • Assist in the creation of sales and manufacturing drawings in Autodesk Inventor
  • Ensure designs meet all relevant Australian Standards (e.g. AS4100, AS1170)
  • Liaise with clients, drafters, installers, and suppliers
  • Sign off designs for submission to certifiers and councils
  • Assist the factory and installation team when design changes arise on-site
  • Support continuous improvement of in-house drafting templates and standard designs
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or willing to attain it promptly
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with structural steel design
  • Competency in Autodesk Inventor
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong knowledge of BCA/NCC and relevant AS codes
Preferred
  • Experience with mezzanine or warehouse structures
  • On-site experience in industrial or commercial steel installation
