Finance Officer

Due to recent growth, we are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join our finance team. As a Finance Officer at Felix, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes, with a specific focus on transactional accounting and payroll. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely maintenance of financial records, processing of transactions, and assisting with month-end reporting and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Transactional accounting:

• Manage the accounts payable process.

• Manage credit card facility reconciliation & following up outstanding invoices from card holders.

• Manage bank reconciliation process.

• Manage the revenue & accounts receivable stream of a key business unit.

• Contribute to the month-end and year-end closing processes & ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards.

• Maintain allocated month-end reconciliation workpapers

Accounting Support:

• Assist the Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer in various accounting tasks.

• Analyse financial data and provide insights to support decision-making processes for the team (budget verse actual).

• Assist with preparation of BAS return & FBT return.

• Utilise financial tools and systems to analyse data and identify opportunities for process improvement.

• Support the annual budget process.

• Prepare journal entries, trial balances, and financial reports.

NetSuite:

• Use of a large ERP system.

• Utilise NetSuite to manage financial data efficiently and leverage the system for financial analysis.

• Assist Financial Controller in identifying areas for automation using Netsuite.

Payroll Administration:

• Process and manage employee payroll.

• Collaborate with HR to maintain up-to-date employee records related to compensation, benefits, and deductions.

• Assist with resolving payroll-related inquiries and issues.

Compliance and Audit:

• Ensure adherence to accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

• Provide support during internal and external audits as needed.

Administation/ Other:

• Maintain accurate and organized financial records & documentation

• Monitor accounts email inbox & allocate incoming emails accordingly.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Proven experience (atleast 1-2 years) in transactional accounting, month end reconciliations, and payroll.

• Sound knowledge of accounting and tax compliance principles (GST, BAS).

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.

• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Preferred:

• Familiarity and experience with NetSuite.

• Completion or commencement of professional accounting qualifications (e.g., CPA, CA).

• Prior experience in a technology company or related industry.
