Receptionist

This isn't your run-of-the-mill receptionist gig. Nope. It's a little quirky, a lot rewarding, and honestly, pretty unique. Why, you ask? Well, besides working alongside a brilliant bunch of people who are ridiculously passionate about our purpose, you'll get a front-row seat to the impact we make with our residents every single day.

Sure, you'll do all the classic receptionist things: answering calls, welcoming visitors, keeping the place ticking, but it's your attention to detail, warm vibe, and calm-as-a-cucumber nature that really make the magic happen. As St Bart's first point of contact, you'll be the friendly hub of our operations, knowing exactly who's who from our fabulous staff and incredible residents to visitors and our trusted trades teams.

You'll thrive in this role if you love variety: fielding calls like a pro, having a friendly chat with residents, making visitors feel like VIPs, or keeping our kitchen and stationery stash fully stocked for our busy teams.

A day on the job will see you:

• Offering outstanding reception support by greeting visitors with a warm, friendly smile and making them feel welcome.
• Handling incoming calls, mail and delivery collections with ease, ensuring smooth recording and distribution.
• Keeping our internal booking systems for pool cars and meeting rooms running efficiently and seamlessly.
• Creating and distributing access cards for staff, clients, and external partners to ensure smooth access.
• Providing proactive support to the Executive Assistant with various exciting and ad hoc tasks as needed.
• Being the first point of contact, assisting with security for our residents and staff.  On occasion, this may include establishing a good rapport with the police, urgent medical care providers and the fire brigade.

• Previous reception experience – bonus points if you have reception experience working with organisations who support vulnerable groups of people, especially those affected by homelessness.
• Exceptional customer service skills and well developed communication skills.
• Strong administration, organisational skills where you manage your time like clockwork.
• Unshakable confidence with the ability to smoothly handle and de-escalate challenging situations with calm and poise.
• A natural ability to engage with others, no matter their background.

About Us

For 60 years, St Bart's has supported people experiencing homelessness and severe and persistent mental health issues as they rebuild their lives. We started as a small homeless shelter for men and have grown into a progressive and inclusive organisation providing support to hundreds of Western Australian men, women and families across four key service areas. Our goal is to provide safe, supported accommodation and services to people who need it the most, regardless of background, age, gender or ethnicity.
