The Junior Accountant plays a vital role in supporting the financial management and operational efficiency of Fix Network brands across Australia. Reporting to the Business Manager, this position is responsible for managing local financial administration processes, ensuring accurate billing and authorizations for fleet customers, overseeing payables and receivables, preparing financial and performance reports, and maintaining effective inventory management.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized with strong attention to detail, proficient in Microsoft Excel and general computer systems, and eager to implement process improvements through digitization and automation. This role requires a solid accounting background and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional team members, franchisee businesses, and the corporate finance team, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to support overall business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage central billing processes, including collecting and organizing reports, processing invoices, and maintaining authorization documentation.
- Import and reconcile financial data from various electronic formats into the company's database and ERP system.
- Prepare and distribute invoice copies to fleet customers and insurers; collect, compile, and redistribute payments to network members.
- Investigate and resolve irregularities in unpaid invoices, and chase outstanding payments.
- Record accounts payable transactions and process cash receipts and bank statements.
- Request and cross-check franchisee statements for accuracy; calculate royalties as required.
- Generate monthly Customer and Franchisee Sales Reports.
- Maintain the 1Link account and perform top-ups when needed.
- Oversee inventory management to prevent write-offs, fraud, and discrepancies; ensure quarterly inventory counts and timely reconciliation.
- Enter stock orders and conduct periodic inventory counts; resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Administer product sales and manage stock replenishment for SRP and Plastic Polish products.
- Undertake other related financial and administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- College diploma or equivalent in accounting or finance an asset.
- 3 to 5 years of accounting experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Strong general computer skills and understanding of computer systems.
- Demonstrated experience in processing financial data is an asset.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Analytical thinking and results-oriented approach.
- Creative problem solver with strategic orientation.
- Commitment to continual learning and process improvement.
