An opportunity exists for a Head of English to join us full-time on a 5-year fixed term Position of Responsibility commencing at the start of 2026, with a permanent teaching role with the School.

About the Role

  • Provide inspirational leadership of the English Department in pedagogy, curriculum and assessment across Years 7–12.
  • Mentor, coach and develop a high-performing team of English teachers.
  • Design, document and implement curriculum and assessment plans consistent with SACE, ACARA and School requirements.
  • Drive innovative and inclusive teaching practices that meet the needs of students across diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Build strong relationships with students, staff and families, reflecting Pulteney's values and commitment to personalised learning.

About You

You are an experienced and inspirational English teacher with:

  • Registration (or eligibility) with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.
  • Tertiary qualifications in education with study in English (postgraduate qualifications desirable).
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, curriculum design and assessment.
  • A leadership style that motivates, empowers and develops others, with sound judgement and integrity.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills and a passion for innovation in education.
