Bristow Legal ) is a Queensland-based law practice which represents transport and warehousing businesses and their advisors across Australia. What sets us apart is our industry focus: we have extensive knowledge of the challenges facing our clients due to our Director, Gillian Bristow, having over 30 years' experience working within this industry. We always prioritise long-term client relationships, and cost-effective, practical solutions to ensure we deliver the best outcomes for our clients.

We have an opportunity to add a new lawyer (or two part time lawyers) to our team. It doesn't matter what your experience level is, whether you have been admitted for just a year, or have a few decades experience under your belt, we want to hear from you

Are you currently working for a large law firm and sick of the politics? Would you like to put an end to late nights and excessive hours, and prioritise your personal life a bit more? Are you someone who got into law due to their passion for helping others, but are finding it hard to maintain this passion due to the way traditional law firms operate? Or are you an early career lawyer looking for a position ripe with learning opportunities?

If so, we may just have the role you are looking for

Our lawyer role will provide you with coverage across every facet of our practice. Some of the key tasks you will be involved in include reviewing and discussing contracts, preparing contractual documentation, assisting clients in their interpretation of legislation, managing disputes, and creating compelling training documents across contract law, company law, and other laws affecting the logistics industry.

We are flexible on experience levels as we are just as happy to take on a recently admitted lawyer as we are to work with an experienced lawyer. Therefore, provided you have, or are eligible to have a practising certificate, plus some experience in commercial or business law, we would encourage you to apply. Our Director, Gillian, will actively work with you to determine an attractive salary package suitable for your goals, hours (whether part- or full-time), and experience.

What we are focused on are the thinking styles and behaviours that underlie our applicants. We want to make sure our team feel engaged, supported, and motivated, and therefore if the below points resonate with you, you may just be the perfect fit for us…

  • You were motivated to pursue law because of its capability to help others and its research driven approach.
  • You love the idea of immersing yourself in your work in a quiet environment free from distraction.
  • You hate being micro-managed and think large firms have too many rules and processes.
  • You appreciate guidance and feedback when required but prefer being provided the trust to work independently.
  • You enjoy support roles as it gives you the opportunity to focus on your work.
  • When asked to make a decision, you almost always prioritise objectivity and facts.
  • You work in a timely manner, but ultimately prioritise a methodical and patient approach.
  • You are an excellent communicator, adept at adjusting your communication style to suit people of varying backgrounds.

If you found yourself nodding your head at most of these points, we may just have the opportunity you have been looking for. To apply please submit your cover letter and cv by 28 November 2025. If you have any questions about this exciting role, please don't hesitate to email Gillian Bristow )
