Your new role:

Are you considering a career change from a defence, policing, or government role? Alternatively, are you aiming to advance your career further within the defence industry security sector? This role is ideal for a former Defence Security employee, a government worker with a current NV1 clearance, or an experienced police veteran.

Your primary areas of responsibilities:

  • Proactively assisting the Corporate Security Manager in ensuring HDA's ongoing compliance with the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) and the Defence Security Principles Framework.
  • Maintain site access passes and undertake compliance and security activities.
  • Applying the Government security policy to advise on security-related issues.
  • Actively assist in the management of security incidences and security risks on the site.
  • Respond to on-site security and emergencies.
  • Maintain security-related registers and process security helpdesk tickets.
  • External Government liaison with the Department of Defence and law enforcement agencies. For example (CASG, DoSA and AGSVA)
  • Event security management and planning.
  • Providing site security briefings and training.

About you

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Working knowledge of Australian Government policies, in particular the PSPF, DSPF and ISM.
  • Previous experience in Defence, intelligence, policing, Defence Industry or security
  • Understanding of security risk management guidelines, standards or tools.
  • A flexible, positive, and friendly nature
  • Willingness and ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Highly proactive with great problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills.
