Work with a networking professional service with a client base across Australia and NZ, that specialise in the design and installation of Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) on a commercial level.
We are looking for a full-time member of staff to undertake wireless LAN design, implementation and survey work. The projects will involve a mix of Customer site work and office-based design work.
- You must already be a resident in Melbourne, with rights to work and live in Australia
- Ekahau experience is an advantage
- Strong willingness to learn and self-study
There are some traits that you'll need to be a success in the role:
- Have a willingness to travel (including interstate), must have current valid driver's licence, as travel is a regular component of the job
- Positively enjoy customer contact and have an in-built attention to detail and ensuring customer outcomes
- You must be physically fit to be able to undertake site work
What you will be responsible for:
- Wi-Fi (WLAN) network designs using desktop-based software to meet customer business and technical requirements across a wide range of industries
- On-Site surveys and network audits to validate and augment Wi-Fi (WLAN) designs to ensure the highest level of quality
- On-Site troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify and remediate complex network issues to ensure outages to essential services are identified and remediated with minimal downtime
- Installation and commissioning of network equipment (WLAN/LAN) to deploy in new infrastructure and uplift existing infrastructure
- Produce high quality reports in MS Word, thorough in technical content with exceptional accuracy and written English.
- Author regular network health check reports to proactively raise potential issues and ensure optimal performance by evaluating, analysing and monitoring the network infrastructure
- As an experienced Wireless Network Engineer supervise, coach and mentor trainee/junior engineers
- Co-ordinate activities and drive project success
- Proactively provide useful ideas, think laterally to solve problems in innovative ways and able to vocalise complex ideas and constructs
- Working independently with minimal supervision to produce insightful and accurate information to be used in company decision making
