FEMALE - SUPPORT WORKER: IMMEDIATE START
Must be available for shift work, Monday to Sunday, day and night.
Situated in Mount Ommaney, Miraa Home is a non for profit learning life skills centre that makes independence real and achievable for women aged 18 and over with an intellectual disability. Miraa Home offers SIL Accommodation, respite and short term.
We are currently seeking our newest member to help provide the best possible support to our participants at Miraa Home. We require a person who has a bubbly personality, is caring and dedicated in making a difference in the lives of our young women to achieve their NDIS goals. This position offers a great opportunity for long-term employment, with the position becoming permanent after a qualifying period.
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate knowledge in legislation, policies and procedures relating to the field of disability. Further, tolerance and understanding for those that exhibit challenging behaviours is essential.

About the Role:
The role will require the candidate to support our ladies with their daily activities, including but not limited to administrating medication and assisting in personal care needs.
- Personal hygiene, showering, hair washing and dressing,
- Personal care,
- Cooking meals,
- Driving to appointment- medical, community and personal,
- Assisting with every day life skills.
Skills and experience:
- Cert 3 in Disability Services or other relevant education,
- Current Australian driver's license and reliable car,
- Current First Aid Certificate,
- Current NDIS Workers screening and Blue Card,
- Strong verbal and written communication skills,
- Experience in the beauty industry highly advantageous (to assist with facilitating our personal care/grooming programs),
- Previous experience essential - minimum of two years.
