The Department seeks a Senior Technical Specialist to oversee an Edge Infrastructure Operational Team and ensuring service stability, service availability, and operational health.
The role provides operational guidance to staff and collaborates closely with other technical teams to maintain the performance and continuity of critical edge services across the Department's infrastructure.
You will be required to develop clear work instructions to support effective triage and prioritisation of issues, maintain strong support ticket management and hygiene practices.
Success in this role requires an individual who can confidently navigate daily operational challenges, drive continuous service improvement, demonstrate strong technical expertise in Dell servers and UPS equipment, and foster a positive team culture to support the needs of all NSW Public School classrooms.

About you
- Strong customer service experience, focusing on solution delivery, service availability and vendor engagements
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of, edge Server and UPS operational procedures, SCOME monitoring tools, and service implementation methods.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to cultivate effective stakeholder relationships
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Industry certification in relevant technologies or equivalent industry experience.
- Hold a valid NSW Working with children Check (WWCC) for paid employment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
