Job role – Apache Flink

Job Location – Sydney

Job Type – Contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize
    real-time data pipelines
    using
    Apache Flink
    and
    Apache Kafka
    .
  • Work with
    Amazon MSK
    to manage scalable Kafka infrastructure in AWS.
  • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to implement robust and fault-tolerant streaming solutions.
  • Implement event-driven architecture patterns to support modern banking applications.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and security in streaming and batch data flows.
  • Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and continuous integration processes.
  • Contribute to the overall data platform modernization strategy in the cloud (AWS)

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8–12 years
    of total experience in
    data engineering
    , with at least
    3–4 years of hands-on experience in Apache Flink
    .
  • Proficiency in
    Apache Kafka
    and
    Amazon Managed Streaming for Kafka (MSK)
    .
  • Strong experience building streaming and real-time data processing systems.
  • Solid programming skills in
    Java
    or
    Scala
    (preferred), and familiarity with
    SQL
    .
  • Proven experience working with
    AWS services
    , particularly in data processing and orchestration.
  • Experience in the
    banking or financial services domain
    is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and monitoring tools for data pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty or Solutions Architect)
  • Experience with other streaming technologies such as Spark Streaming, Kinesis, etc.
  • Exposure to data governance, compliance, and security best practices in finance.
