Lead the Future of Infrastructure and development in our community
We are seeking an experienced, strategic and highly motivated leader to join our Executive Leadership Team as Director Infrastructure & Development.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery and management of our capital works programs, asset management, engineering and development functions that support the growth and liveability of our city.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team across infrastructure delivery, engineering, planning, development, and maintenance services.
- Drive the delivery of Council's capital works and maintenance programs efficiently and within budget.
- Oversee strategic land use planning, development assessment, building and plumbing services, and heritage protection.
- Provide high-level recommendations to Council's long-term strategic, financial, and operational planning.
- Ensure effective work health and safety management across the Directorate.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, customer service excellence, and innovation.
About you:
You are a proven leader with a strong background in infrastructure, development, or engineering, and have the ability to inspire and develop team members to deliver high-quality outcomes. You bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, planning, or a related discipline.
- Extensive senior leadership experience, ideally in local government or a similar complex environment.
- Strong people management and team-building skills that support a positive and high-performing workplace culture.
- Demonstrated experience in capital works delivery, asset management, transport and stormwater engineering, and infrastructure planning.
- A track record of strategic leadership, sound financial and risk management, and excellent communication skills.

This is a 5-year contract position and includes an attractive salary with options for flexible working arrangements and private use of a Council vehicle. You will work with supportive and highly skilled management team colleagues in the role.
