Levantine Hill Estate is a benchmark producer of ultra-premium wines in the heart of the Yarra Valley. Our vineyard is meticulously managed for low yields and exceptional quality, producing wines that reflect the unique terroir of our region. We combine traditional viticulture with cutting-edge techniques to craft wines of elegance, complexity, and longevity.

Our estate comprises 160 acres under vine, spread across two distinct vineyard sites (one spanning Maroondah Highway and one spanning Hill Road), each contributing unique characteristics to our wines.

Position Overview

As a Vineyard Operator, you will work across all Levantine Hill vineyards. Your role will involve a variety of vineyard duties, including operating tractors and other machinery, pest and disease control, spraying, irrigation, pruning, and harvesting. You will also be responsible for maintaining the appearance and security of the properties, supervising contractors, and collaborating with various teams.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

Some of the main duties and responsibilities include:

• Operate and maintain vineyard machinery and equipment.
• Perform viticultural and horticultural tasks such as pruning, trellis repairs, chemical application, and grape harvesting.
• Supervise contractors and induct new staff.
• Collaborate with winemaking, venue, and head office teams.
• Maintain spray diaries, machinery logs, and safety documentation.
• Assist with livestock care and perform additional tasks as directed.

Selection Criteria:

• Proven experience in premium viticulture, ideally in low-yielding, cool-climate vineyards.
• Understanding of vine physiology, pest and disease management, and sustainable practices.
• Experience with operating vineyard equipment and the ability to train others.
• Valid Victorian driver's licence and forklift licence.
• Permanent residency status or citizenship in Australia.
• Commitment to excellence, high standards, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Professional, respectful, and courteous demeanour.
• Strong work ethic, flexibility, and motivation.
• Diligent and safety conscious.
