Head Chef, Comfort Resort Waters Edge, Port Macquarie
Lead the kitchen at one of Port Macquarie's most scenic waterfront hotels.
About Us
Comfort Resort Waters Edge is a well-established hotel with a prime position overlooking the stunning Hastings River. Our growing restaurant and functions business specialises in fresh, wholesome meals that appeal to locals, corporate guests, and in-house visitors alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with the Senior Mangement Team to plan, develop, and execute menus for restaurant service, functions, and events.
- Manage and mentor kitchen staff to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Oversee food preparation, presentation, and quality control.
- Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards.
- Work closely with management to meet food cost targets and operational goals.Monitor food costs and implement measures to control expense.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a busy kitchen with experience catering for functions and bus groups
- A "Can Do" attitude with strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food preparation, presentation and a strong knowledge of the motel industry.
- Proven track record of creating innovative menus and controlling food costs
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm and reliability with a professional work ethic
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and safety
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster - it is a small team and some split shifts may be required.
