The role owns the integrated management of planning, document control, risk management, quality assurance, reporting and IT services, finance reporting and cost control, contracts and change management, and end-to-end supply chain operations.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator who can simplify complex data and insights for senior stakeholders, enabling clear decision-making. This position reports directly to the Alliance Manager and is a key member of the Alliance Senior Management Team, contributing to strategy, governance, and performance outcomes across the program.
Key responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and coach a cross-functional team spanning planning and controls, finance and commercial, and supply chain to deliver program outcomes.
Ensure achievement of targets on budget, on schedule (drive compliance to the master schedule), and on quality.
Establish robust data monitoring and reporting that achieves internal company KPIs and supports proactive decision-making.
Ensure reporting and performance against Sequence KPIs: Safety Management, On-Time Delivery, Whole System Integration, Network Disruption Mitigation, Operational Legacy, Stakeholders & Community.
Simplify complex information and present clear, concise insights and dashboards to senior stakeholders, the Alliance Manager, and the Alliance ALT, AMT and PLT.
Monitor customer satisfaction and manage customer claims, including preventive and corrective actions.
Lead Risk & Opportunity management across the Sequence Alliance and internal Hitachi governance, ensuring early identification, mitigation, and exploitation of opportunities.
Engage key senior stakeholders in QLD Government, DTMR, CRRDA, and QR for governance and control matters; maintain trusted relationships and transparent communication.
Ensure the Sequence Alliance meets the contractual obligations of the Project Alliance Agreement (PAA).
Oversee management and performance of key subcontractors, ensuring alignment to scope, schedule, quality, safety, and commercial terms.
Control scope and change, including preparation and governance of AEG (change events), ensuring rigorous change impact assessment and approvals.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with all Sequence Alliance Participants; manage expectations and resolve issues promptly.
Direct the overall planning of program activities to meet critical milestones across each phase (design, procurement, construction, testing/commissioning).
Set and oversee Sequence budget estimates and staffing requirements for defined scope and schedule.
Coordinate and report program planning and budget using Earned Value Management (EVM).
Prepare analyses that proactively identify and mitigate risks; drive scenario planning and contingency actions.
Prepare and manage claims for the Sequence Alliance to the Project Owner.
Lead project status reviews with Hitachi management and the client, ensuring accuracy, insight, and action focus.
Champion continuous improvement across quality assurance, reporting, and IT-enabled services to increase transparency and efficiency.
Skills & Experience:

Proven track record delivering complex and international projects valued at $200M+.
Significant experience across:
