Personal Trainer for Boutique Studio

About the role

Train Station Fitness Pty Ltd is looking for an energetic, open-minded and passionate strength coach to take 1-on-1 and 2-on-1 45 minute training sessions at our boutique gym at 320C Glenferrie Road, Malvern 3144. We specialise in general strength training, beginner to intermediate level powerlifting and olympic weightlifting, body composition and calisthenics. 

At Train Station Fitness, we believe our coaches should be able to walk the walk and put themselves in their clients' shoes. If you are an individual, who loves to consistently challenge yourself physically, we would love to hear from you.

Your Role at Train Station Fitness:

You will be allocated clients depending on your availability, consistency and ability to adapt. Train Station Fitness will assist you in becoming a self sufficient coach that is able to motivate and push clients to achieve their fitness goals with highest level of attention to detail.

• 45-minute PT sessions
• Coaching - cues and suggestions on exercising when needed
• Programming - knowledge to regress or progress certain movements when needed
• Be personable and build connections with clients
• External programming if requested
• General nutrition advice if requested

Earning opportunities (No rent):

Coaches at Train Station Fitness will be paid a baseline amount on each PT session. The more sessions conducted per week/pay cycle, the more this amount will increase (incentive program). As your working hours are flexible, your earning potential is essentially uncapped at Train Station Fitness. You can pretty much be your own boss

Our clienteles are largely loyal due to their location (most within walking distance); therefore, all of your relationships built through training will mostly be long lasting.

You will be allocated clients depending on your availability, consistency, retention and ability to adapt to different kinds of training. You are not required to do sales as part of your role, but you are welcome to do so as you see fit.

Expectations:

Coaches at Train Station Fitness are expected to come to training with the right attitude. We want to spread passion and positivity for fitness to our clients. You need to train yourself and have a lifestyle to back up your teachings, so that your clients can be inspired to follow your footsteps.

We generally don't encourage quick fixes and usually focus on building habits and positive long lasting behaviours. No cookie cutter approach - Everyone's journey is to be taken with individuality and respect; no one's goals need to make sense to other people. Our job is to assist people's passion for fitness to the best of our capability, period. 

Last but not least, you're not just here to inspire your clients, but also your colleagues. We expect you (when necessary) to take initiatives to help each other out and keep the studio safe, tidy and clean.

Requirements:

• Certificate 3&4 in Fitness or Equivalent
• Access to easy travel to the gym
• Always be in uniform (this will be provided)
• Able to work AM and PM hours
• Lead by example (must be currently training yourself)
• Positive attitude and greet our clients on entry
• Have a very open-mind and are not afraid to be wrong
• Eager to learn more

Interview Process:

Upon agreeing to meet, there will be a few scenarios where you will be required to describe briefly how you would handle different clients and their goals. Your answers don't have to match ours, but you need to be able to justify them.
