About the role

The Group Accountant manages a team of two and reports directly to the Cattani / ESAM Head of Finance. This role manages the consolidated financial statements, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, and provides comprehensive financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making for the Cattani/ESAM businesses across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.

Working in a medium sized organisation with both Australian and overseas entities is an opportunity to have visibility to, and apply your accounting skills, across an entire operation at both a local and international level, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting, and improvements that fuel team success.

Key responsibilities include.

  • Produce month-end financial and compliance reports
  • Produce month-end financial and compliance reports
  • Lead 2 direct reports (AP, AR, Payroll)
  • Manage daily financial transactions and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and approve payments for processing
  • Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Prepare and lodge BAS, Income Tax PAYG, and other compliance documents
  • Work with external accountants to complete annual tax obligations by country
  • Maintain insurance policies and asset registers of all entities.
  • Prepare year end reports, before tax adjustments, etc
  • Review operating procedures and statutory compliance
  • Prepare month end trade debtors collection report
  • Highlight key receivable matters

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Degree qualification in accounting
  • CA/CPA Certified
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position
  • Experience in managing multiple currencies
  • A focus on checks, controls, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience working under pressure within strict timelines
  • Ability to work independently to achieve goals
  • To be an organisational team player, noticing and stepping to help when needed
  • To value a respectful and professional approach to work and colleagues
