About the Role

We are seeking people with passion and a strong drive for conservation and animal welfare. You will play a key role in animal husbandry, enrichment, visitor education and the ongoing development of new animal habitats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily husbandry, feeding, training and enrichment for a diverse range of species
  • Monitoring animal health and behaviour, reporting welfare observations
  • Maintaining world-class enclosure standards of cleanliness and safety
  • Assisting with veterinary procedures and record keeping
  • Delivering engaging public talks and guest experiences
  • Contributing to conservation messaging and animal education programs
  • Supporting the growth and expansion of new exhibits and projects

About You

Essential Attributes

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with wildlife (volunteer or paid)
  • Experience working with birds, native wildlife and/or ungulates
  • Passion for conservation, welfare, and public engagement
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all weather
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and high standards of care

Desirable

  • Qualifications in Zoology, Animal Care, Wildlife Science or related field
  • Experience in a zoological or wildlife care facility
  • First Aid Certificate & Working with Vulnerable People registration (or willingness to obtain)
