Who is Landmark Legal?

Landmark Legal is located in Charlestown, but has a national client base via various referral partners. We focus on families and SMEs in meeting their needs to grow, to protect and to transition their wealth. Our principal areas of work are in Property investment and development, Commercial, Wills and Estates, and Family Law.

The Position

Landmark Legal is looking for an experienced Commercial Lawyer with Property or Planning experience.

The primary responsibility will be to lead the commercial division of the practice, and support the firm's Principal in delivering high level advice and product to property investor / developer clients and SMEs.

Commercial work will involve managing matters such as shareholder agreements, joint venture agreements, option agreements, private lending arrangements, business purchase and sales, commercial and retail leasing, and company and trust advice and creation, together with minor commercial dispute matters.

On the Property side, work will involve more complex property purchases and sales using company and trust entities, SMSFs, option agreements and off plan sales contracts. Knowledge to advise on strata matters or planning law, and conveyancing in other states, would be an advantage.

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years PAE
  • Desire to lead the Commercial law team with focus on complex property needs
  • Strong knowledge of commercial aspects of companies, trusts and SMSFs
  • Strong knowledge of shareholder agreements, joint venture agreements, option agreements and private lending documentation
  • Knowledge of commercial leasing and business transactions
  • Knowledge of strata and planning laws (or demonstrated ability to learn and take on)
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Ability to manage and supervise a team of solicitors and admin support
  • Desire to seek ownership / partnership preferred
  • Ability to network and expand client base.
