The Community Services Commission (The Board) was established by the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane. The Board provides strategic direction to the community welfare, social justice, health, aged and community care activities of the Diocese. The direction and control of Anglicare SQ, including its business and affairs, is vested in the Board as a whole, which is responsible to the Diocesan Council.

The opportunity

We are looking for a Board Member with specific expertise in financial governance and audit. This position will be a member of the Audit and Risk Committee.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the board (comprising 10 members) and contribute to a purpose-driven organisation of significant size and impact. As a Board Member, you will play a key role in shaping strategic decisions, ensure sound financial stewardship, whilst upholding Anglicare's mission to serve Queensland's most vulnerable communities.

You will bring

  • Extensive executive-level experience in Finance and / or Audit, ideally within large and complex organisations
  • Board experience with a strong understanding of contemporary governance principles
  • Strategic insight and experience in guiding organisations through reform, compliance, or sector change
  • Strong communication, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Capacity to commit time to monthly meetings, occasional weekend events, and committee involvement
  • Experience in community services, aged care, health, or NFP sectors is highly regarded
  • Completion of the AICD Company Directors Course (or equivalent)
