About the QNMU
The Queensland Nurses and Midwives' Union (QNMU) is the primary industrial and professional organisation for nurses and midwives working in public, private, diverse and aged care sectors in Queensland. The QNMU seeks to promote and defend the industrial, professional, social, political and democratic interests of over 75,000 members. We have over 200 employees including organisers, professionals and administrative personnel, and manage a multi-million-dollar operating budget.

Your focus in this role will be to facilitate member workplace activity in the pursuit of industrial and professional advancement for nurses and midwives. You will get to work closely with our members, building strong relationships to understand their needs and priorities. You will provide representation individually (as required) and collectively in workplace disputes, ensuring what is in the best interest of our members always remains the primary focus. Using the principles of transformational activism, you will provide support and coaching to workplace delegates, striving to maintain positive engagement with all members and pursue the continuous growth of our member base and collective power of the QNMU.

Who we're looking for:-
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Experience within a range of nursing and/or midwifery roles
- Demonstrated experience and passion as an activist
- Ability to understand and interpret industrial instruments and QLD workplace laws
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and advocate for the best interests of our members;
- Demonstrated ability to research, critically analyse and provide sounds conclusions and most appropriate options in a variety of contexts
- A current driver's license
- Demonstrated commitment to enhancing positive work culture
What are the benefits?
- Starting base salary of $135,941.32
- 5 weeks annual leave + 17.5% leave loading
- Monthly RDO's (13 per year) or option to work compressed hours 9 day fortnight
- 15% superannuation
- Christmas closure – no leave required
