Role Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure and Cloud Governance Engineer to enhance their Azure environment, which is already established, and to lead cloud oversight, security, and policy-driven initiatives. The role involves a blend of BAU, strategic oversight, and project delivery, crucial for maturing and optimising their hybrid infrastructure. It is instrumental in driving stability, security, cost-efficiency, and operational excellence within the organisation's cloud landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee Azure IaaS and PaaS services, ensuring best practices in governance, cost management, policies, and environment resilience.
- Support hybrid infrastructure, maintaining Windows and on-prem systems, and enabling smooth integration with cloud assets.
- Provide thought leadership on cloud strategic initiatives, including policy development, automation, and environment optimisation.
- Review and enhance network design, backup, and disaster recovery processes for improved operational robustness.
- Collaborate with external MSPs and internal teams to align governance, security, and operational maturity objectives.
- Support upcoming projects such as cloud policy implementation, FinOps, automation with Bicep, and environment optimisation.
About You
- Strong background in Azure cloud management and governance, with knowledge of IaaS and PaaS services.
- Proficiency in Windows Server administration and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Experience with cloud automation tools such as Bicep and Terraform.
- Insight into cloud security controls, policy implementation, and environment resilience.
- Knowledge of network design, disaster recovery, and operational optimisation.
- Ability to provide strategic guidance and collaborate effectively with technical teams and stakeholders.
