Welcome to Eden Academy Junction Village, where we are a child safe organisation, committed to the safety, wellbeing and empowerment of all children.

Operating from 7:00am to 6:30pm we are looking for an experienced Kitchen Hand, with Educator experience highly regardedto join our team working Monday to Friday, working 3-4 hours per day in the Kitchen and the rest of the day in our 7 vibrant rooms supporting our 130 incredible little learners. 

We'd love to welcome someone who brings warmth, joy, and plenty of positive energy into everything they do You'll be a valued helping hand in the kitchen alongside our wonderful Chef, and also a much-loved support for our Educators as you step into our rooms to provide relief breaks. You'll be part of creating a truly nurturing, fun, and joy-filled environment where both children and educators can thrive.

Ideally, we would love someone who is happy to be in the Kitchen supporting our Chef (approximately 20-25 hours per week), along with the opportunity to increase your working hours each week as a experienced Assistant Educator to support all the rooms with break reliefs. We have 7 rooms at the centre with 130 children.  

As our new Kitchen Hand, you will:

  • Support our talented chef in preparing healthy, delicious meals
  • Show commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment
  • Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a supportive, team-focused setting
  • Play a key role in supporting the health and well-being of children through nutritious food.
  • Building positive relationships with staff, families, and children within the centre community.
  • Ability to lift 15kgs and be able to work with heavy equipment.
  • Complete temperate checks and have an understanding of food hygiene
  • Familiar and across all allergies and understands the important of nutrition and catering needs for children
  • Confident to take on full cooking duties and kitchen responsibilities in the absence of the Chef

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum qualifications - Food Handling Certificate and Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Educator (or working towards, willing to gain)
  • A current Working with Children Check
  • Strong understanding of diverse dietary requirements and food sensitivities
  • Australian Working Rights
  • Impeccable personal presentation
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday - 5 days
