The role
CBCity is seeking a skilled and reliable mechanic to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for carrying out daily maintenance and repairs on Council's fleet of heavy and light vehicles, plant and equipment.
You'll take pride in ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with WHS and industry standards.
This role is primarily based at Greenacre, with occasional travel to other Council sites.
The position offers a Monday - Friday work week with a scheduled day off every fortnight.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on Council vehicles, plant, and equipment.
- Complete tasks on time, to a high standard, and in a cost-effective way.
- Prepare parts lists and maintain accurate job records and paperwork.
- Support workshop cleanliness and safe work practices.
- Perform additional duties as directed by workshop supervisors.

You will have
- Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
- Class HR Drivers licence (or ability to attain within 6 months)
- Experience and knowledge in the corrective & preventive repair of Medium & Heavy Plant and Equipment
- Experience and knowledge of suspension systems, automatic and manual transmissions, diesel and petrol engines.
- Sufficient knowledge and experience of hydraulic and pneumatic operating systems and components to perform diagnostic work.
- Experience in working to manufacturers service and maintenance schedules.
The salary range for this opportunity starts at
$71,820 (Grade D, Step1) + 12% super.
Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
You will have
- A trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
- A current HR licence (or the ability to obtain one within 6 months).
- Experience maintaining and repairing medium and heavy plant, vehicles, and equipment.
- Knowledge of suspension, transmissions, diesel/petrol engines, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- The ability to work to manufacturer service and maintenance schedules.
The salary for this position is
$77,424 (Grade D, Step 3) + Allowances + 12% super.
