We are a leading organisation offering a comprehensive suite of services to clients and the community across the Barwon, West Melbourne and Wimmera Regions. Providing specialist sexual assault and family violence programs and services, including 24 hour crisis care support, case management, therapeutic counselling, early intervention and professional education and training, we continue to grow and develop our offerings.
About the Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre
We are a client-centred organisation, supporting the community throughout Barwon, Wimmera, and the South West regions, offering a range of specialist support services to people impacted by sexual and family violence, encompassing 24 hour crisis care, specialist response services, early intervention programs, Victims Assistance Program, Community Legal Services, trauma recovery programs, professional training and primary prevention initiatives.
About The Role
This role provides local leadership to the Partnership, including facilitating and promoting engagement from member partners, overseeing development of the WSWFVP Strategic Plan, and maintaining focus on key priorities of the WSWFVP Strategic Plan and Annual Action Plans.

About You
The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of family violence and sexual assault, government policy, current sector initiatives, trauma-informed practice, and the diverse contexts of affected communities, along with previous experience in a Chair or similar leadership role, including facilitation, conflict resolution, strategic partnership management, and systems advocacy. They will also demonstrate exceptional strategic, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, the ability to synthesise and convey complex information, and experience engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

The successful candidate will be required to maintain a current Working with Children's Check and National Police Check at their own expense.
Key Selection Criteria
- A comprehensive understanding of family violence and sexual assault, government policy and current initiatives in the family violence sector, including an informed understanding of the continuum of family violence from prevention, early intervention, response and recovery.
- Previous experience in a similar Chair role and/or demonstrated strong facilitation, conflict resolution, leadership skills and efficient time keeping.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and demonstrated ability to work in a trauma-informed manner with all people including those with lived experience of family violence.
- Exceptional strategic and analytical skills with the ability to analyse and synthesise and communicate complex information to stakeholders at all levels.
- Significant and demonstrable management experience, including experience in brokering and managing strategic partnerships and systems advocacy.
- Demonstrated understanding of the complex and diverse contexts of family violence and sexual assault, including for communities who are rural and remote, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse and LGBTIQA+.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders.

- Current Victorian Driver's Licence.

Period of Appointment
Fixed term 12-month contract until 01/12/26 subject to funding.
Hours of work
15 hrs per month to be worked flexibly.
Salary and Conditions
$82 p/hr.
Industrial Instrument: The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre Enterprise Agreement 2023.
Salary Packaging: Provided via Maxxia. PBI status with other expenses available to package above this cap. The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre is a Public Benevolent Institution.
Superannuation: The employer will also make superannuation payments on your behalf in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992.
Probationary Period – 6 months with a review conducted during this time.
