We are seeking applications from suitably qualified Speech Pathologists to join our Education Support Services Team. Speech pathology intervention in our school setting addresses the child's functional needs in accessing all areas of the school curriculum. Speech pathology interventions enable our students to communicate and participate in classroom activities more confidently.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessment and diagnosis of Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).
- Plan, implement, and oversee evidence-based intervention programs to support students with DLD.
- Coordinate and deliver the kindergarten screening process to support early identification of language difficulties.
- Provide professional learning (PD) for staff to build understanding and capacity in supporting students with DLD.
- Case manages identified students, including goal setting, progress monitoring, and collaboration with families and external professionals.
- Develop and maintain documented plans for students requiring language support.
- Work consultatively across the school to support teachers in embedding communication-friendly practices within classrooms.
Selection Criteria
- Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
- Experience or strong interest in working with children with Developmental Language Disorder.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
- A commitment to inclusive education and supporting the wellbeing and success of all students.
