Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Manager to lead our laboratory quality systems and compliance efforts. This role is central to maintaining and expanding our NATA and TGA accreditations, driving continual improvement, and ensuring consistent quality across all laboratory operations.

Analytical Laboratories and Technical Services Australia (ALTSA) is a NATA accredited multi-laboratory facility servicing regional Australia.

ALTSA: Quality Assurance Manager

Due to growing demand, we have a vacancy for a Quality Assurance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Systems & Compliance

  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in internal audits, system reviews, and management reviews across all labs.
  • Maintain existing NATA/TGA accreditations and drive compliance for additional tests as targeted by the General Manager.
  • Guide the organisation through quality system deployment and certification processes.
  • Stay current with regulatory standards and assist in identifying formal standards and codes relevant to our operations.
  • Collaborate with Lab Managers to ensure consistent implementation of quality systems, including CofAs, staff training, calibration verifications, and validations.
  • Investigate and address quality-related issues and complaints, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.

Process Documentation & Improvement

  • Assist in documenting processes and operating procedures to support compliance and operational clarity.
  • Lead and support continual improvement initiatives, including the development and implementation of new tests and efficiency improvements.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness and suitability of the management system, providing input into strategic planning and resource optimisation.

Training & Development

  • Coordinate and deliver NATA/TGA/safety training programs for staff.
  • Advise on quality-related training needs and support the development of quality objectives and strategies aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction.

Customer & Supplier Liaison

  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure goods meet required specifications within a manufacturing/laboratory context.
  • Engage with customers to monitor perceptions of quality and timeliness, and support the rollout of systems that improve service delivery.

Digital Systems & Innovation

  • Lead the development and implementation of the LIMS system in collaboration with IT and Lab Managers.
  • Drive the rollout and training of the Online Sample Request System across all labs and with customers.
  • Monitor system usage, address issues, and ensure full adoption to enhance operational efficiency.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role you must have:

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

· Ideally a science degree or similar but not essential.

· NATA training and internal auditor training.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

· Similar role particularly with regards ensuring NATA compliance.

· Ideally commercial laboratory experience or at least NATA lab experience.

· LIMS experience or similar.

· Strong IT skills.

· Internal audits.

· Project management.

· Collaborations and influencing others to drive a consistent approach to systems.

· Involvement in continual improvement activities.

Well regarded:

· Bachelor of Chemistry.

· Prior experience in a commercial lab environment.

· Prior experience in the agricultural industry or environmental related area.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
