· Astelec Group is a privately owned company specialising in the telecommunications and construction sector. We are well established in the telecommunication infrastructure sector across VIC / SA, with an industry reputation for quality and delivery on various carrier networks. We have a strong, long term list of clients achieved by delivering a high quality of work and service customised to their needs.

· To support our continued growth, we are seeking people to provide a raft of services on major infrastructure projects and multiple carrier networks. You will be working in a variety of locations working with our experienced team.

· The opportunity is available for the right person to gain further qualifications / tickets eg. excavator operator, truck licence etc.

· For any people that would like to progress through the business into other roles eg. Team Leader, Optical Fibre Technician/Splicing etc. the world is your oyster.

About the position

· Your days will start at our warehouse in Lynbrook, before heading to any one of our current work locations all over metro and regional Melbourne.

· Whilst prioritising safety, you will rod, rope and haul cable as specified on plans, both handheld and using a winch.

· We do a small amount of civil construction (trenching and installation of pits) however most of our work will involve rod, roping and cable hauling.

Role and Responsibilities

· Cable hauling

· Reading of Plans

· Cable trailer and winch operations

· Safety awareness

· Trenching and installing communication pits

· Ability to work within a team and follow direction

· Full training provided for the right person/s

Skills and experience

· Experience in cable hauling is advantageous but not necessary

· White card/Construction induction card

· Full Australian working rights is essential

· Valid manual drivers licence (truck and/or excavator licence is advantageous)

· Reliability is a must

· Availability to travel and work the occasional weekend

· MUST be able to pass a medical, drug/alcohol tests and police check

· We are looking for a decent, hard working person who likes to have a laugh amongst their team
