In this role, you'll collaborate across teams to deliver scalable, resilient systems, automate workloads, and apply best practices in security and architecture. You'll work with technologies like Kubernetes, Linux, Infrastructure-as-Code, and observability stacks, while fostering a culture of trust and continuous improvement.
This is a permanent, full-time role.

At Aussie Broadband, our purpose is to change the game, and we do that by putting people first. As our Systems Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring our critical systems are secure, resilient and scalable, enabling our teams to deliver exceptional experiences to our customers. You'll work closely with others across the business, contributing your expertise while fostering a culture of trust, care and shared success.
- Maintain the security, reliability, and availability of our critical systems infrastructure 
- Contribute to system design and architecture that delivers real value to our people and customers 
- Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure platform reliability and rapid response to critical incidents. 
- Collaborate across diverse teams to achieve meaningful business outcomes 
- Deliver scalable, resilient applications that support growth and innovation 
- Build, automate and enhance containerised and virtualised workloads in on-prem environments 
- Apply your understanding of the telco industry to inform technical choices 
- Work with Kubernetes, Linux system administration and distributed systems 
- Use service mesh technologies and multi-cluster architectures 
- Design systems with a security-first mindset, including encryption, segmentation, and compliance 
- Leverage Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, Ansible or Helm 
- Monitor systems using observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana and Loki 
- Engage with open-source ecosystems and industry standards 
- Use version control and automation tools (e.g. Git, ArgoCD, CI/CD) 
- Apply networking concepts in containerised environments 
- Script in Go or Python (a bonus, not a must) 
- Solve problems with empathy, work on one's own and adapt with ease
