The opportunity
Are you an experienced and passionate turf manager looking to take the next step in your career? Altone Park Golf Course is seeking a talented 2IC (Assistant Superintendent) to join our dynamic team in Beechboro, Western Australia. This full-time role will see you play a crucial part in the ongoing maintenance and development of our busy 9 hole golf course.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Golf Course Superintendent in the daily operations and management of the golf course
- Oversee and coordinate the works to ensure optimum course conditions
- Implement and monitor maintenance schedules for turf, landscaping, and other course assets
- Identify and address any issues or concerns with the course, liaising with the Superintendent
- Assist with project planning and execution, including course renovations and improvements
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and industry regulations
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of golf course operations
What we're looking for
- Must have Cert. 3 in horticulture (Turf management) or higher
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a golf course maintenance or similar role
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with the Superintendent, team, and stakeholders
- Proficient in the use of golf course maintenance equipment
- Experience with machinery maintenance and irrigation repairs
- A valid driver's licence and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends
- Must have Australian permanent residency or citizenship
