Curragh Mine is one of the largest open-cut coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin and located only 12 kilometres from the local township of Blackwater.

What You'll Do
Reporting to the Superintendent CHPP, you'll play a key role in driving the smooth, efficient and sustainable operation of our two Coal Handling and Preparation Plants (CHPP). You'll be instrumental in hitting production targets while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, cost control and environmental performance — all on a lifestyle roster that supports work-life balance.

In This Dynamic And Hands-on Role, You Will

  • Lead and inspire CHPP operations teams to deliver safe, high-quality production in line with corporate targets.
  • Build capability and depth by managing training, competencies, authorisations and skill allocation across shifts.
  • Own the day-to-day operations of the plant, including process performance and stockpile management.
  • Champion compliance with Coal Mining Safety and Health legislation through accurate shift logs, permits and safe systems of work.
  • Identify smarter, safer and more efficient ways of working.
  • Create a high-performing culture through leadership, coaching, attendance and performance management, teamwork and positive change.

What You'll Bring
To succeed and thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in coal or mineral processing, or general production/maintenance in a plant environment
  • Proven supervisory or leadership experience
  • Hands-on experience operating SCADA and control systems

A relevant trade qualification is highly desirable.

Additionally you're known for thinking outside the box, have highly effective communication skills and more than anything, you want to be part of a great team, do great work and excel to your potential.
