Modern Currency is looking to welcome a new dedicated Public Relations & Event Manager. This could suit someone stepping up from several years in account managing clients but ready to make the next step into a more senior role, or someone wishing to diversify their role into a mix of PR and events, influencer marketing and project management.

What skills & attributes should you have and what does success look like?
- A bachelor's degree in communications or similar such as journalism or marketing, or media communications
- You love to communicate, lead, find solutions and you are responsive at every turn
- You can maintain a sense of calm in high pressure situations, provide assurance to the teams you lead or work within, and to your clients, and instil confidence
- Strong experience with client relations and be an energetic worker, and a team player
- Hold experience in communications channels including media & public relations, influencer relations, internal communications, events/activations, content creation and more across a wide range of industries
- Experience in developing communication and marketing strategies, and overseeing the execution of these for clients/brands
- Writing is something you love - you can draft high quality communications materials, be able to adapt to various topics and tones including press materials, releases, fact sheets, tailored pitch notes, briefing documents and create strong headlines
- Attention to detail; writing, planning, strategising – you are always thinking ahead and always notice the missing apostrophes
- You hold a talent for creative thinking, and you love to share ideas with your team and clients
- You have experience in events - either creating from scratch or jumping in to support your colleagues, you know how to create a run sheet, think about possible hurdles, source suppliers and be a dynamic thinker when it matters
- Pride in your work is paramount; you hold yourself accountable to producing high quality work to deadlines
- You get a buzz out of seeking out and building new business opportunities, successfully networking with potential clients, and seeing new opportunities for an existing client portfolio
- You love to build relationships, developing rapport, and creating and gaining trust with those you work with
- You are progressive: a natural future leader, and can manage times of change or unrest well, and provide insight and positivity where it is needed
- Someone who thinks and acts in a goal orientated manner
- Successfully able to manage junior team members, offering team members positive feedback and coaching on PR, communications, content and brand strategy skills.
To be successful, you should ideally have:
- A minimum of 3-4+ years of experience within Public Relations, Events, Marketing and/or Communications related role, preferably some experience within an agency environment.
- Excellent writing and grammar; do not apply if you don't know the difference between their, there and they're.
- Robust strategic thinking, communications skills, and a desire to incorporate emerging communications tactics with traditional ones.
- Motivation to get on the phone and talk to people: journalists, influencers and other key stakeholders to gain client success.
- Project management skills that will rapidly permit you to slot into our team
- A desire for success and motivation to flourish which will in turn help you grow both your client list and team further
- Aspiration to be a part of a close-knit team that enjoys a lot of fun, flexibility and rewards and also be prepared to work hard but reap the benefits.

In this role you will have a level of autonomy and trust, managing client partnerships, and company internal teams to ensure work is undertaken to the highest standard and to support Modern Currency's general managers and directors. You will oversee workflow, policies and processes and contribute to the team and company's growth plans.
