About the role...
This is an opportunity for a qualified Actuary to build the reserving, capital and reinsurance management capability of Assetinsure to support its growth plans. There are opportunities to work in specialty, credit and direct lines for Assetinsure's direct and reinsurance portfolios. You will be working closely with Assetinsure's global partners, and for high performing candidates, there may be the opportunity to work in the global network.
The key responsibilities will be…
Reporting and analysis
- Modelling and analysis for pricing, underwriting, portfolio management and management reporting.
- Forecasting and budgeting.
- Assist the external Appointed Actuary with reserving analysis.
Reinsurance
- Provide analytical support to assist with enquiries from reinsurers.
- Prepare the reinsurance renewal pack, including pre-read material, data and the presentation slides.
- Maintain the Reinsurance Arrangement Statement.
- Maintain the Reinsurance Risk Management Strategy.
- Analyse the capital impact of material changes to the reinsurance retention, structure and pricing.
Capital Management
- Improve the effectiveness of the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP).
- Maintain the Capital Allocation Model (CAM) and produce the quarterly reports for the Executive Committee.
- Capital calculations and APRA reporting.
- Stress testing and scenario analysis for the business.
- Build and maintain stochastic models for Assetinsure's credit portfolios to support portfolio management / reinsurance structuring / provide insights on risk exposure and portfolio management.
Risk Management/Board/Regulatory affairs
- Implement / maintain risk policies relevant to capital, investment and reinsurance management.
- Board and risk committee reporting for capital, risk reporting and policy updates.

- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written including the ability to communicate technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to develop strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
The experience required is…
- 5-8 years relevant actuarial work experience in the general insurance industry
- Actuarial degree and qualified actuary.
- Experience in using programming languages such as (SQL/R/Python).
