Leura, Australia Sorensen's Glasshouse & Gardens Full time $75,000 per year

Sorensen's Glasshouse and Gardens is located in a unique location in the Blue Mountains, set in a glasshouse surrounded by trees and gardens. We are open for breakfast and lunch from Monday to Sunday.

We are looking for a Chef to join our team. We have a full time position available working in a day time environment with early afternoon finish. Ability to work any day of the week is required.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to prepare and cook breakfast and lunch for customers
  • Supervision of all food preparation to ensure the kitchen is consistently producing high quality meals
  • Assist the with creating menus, recipes and improve dishes to ensure diversity, high quality, freshness and healthiness
  • Hands on and will jump in other areas where needed
  • Responsible for portion, stock and waste control
  • Comply with food safety program and procedures.
  • Passion for food and cooking, with creativity, high presentation standards and attention to detail

Requirements

  • A good work ethic with a friendly positive attitude
  • Experience in working under pressure in a fast environment including working in an a la carte kitchen and prep
  • Knowledge in food quality control, preparation and menus
  • Experience in café and breakfast kitchen service desirable
  • Understanding strict health and hygiene standards and Workplace Health & Safety legislation
  • Must have good knife skills
  • Cleaning down the kitchen after serves is a must

Schedule:

  • 7-9 hour shifts
  • Flexibility and available to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
  • Day time availability for breakfast and lunch service
  • Weekend availability

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $75,000.00 per year
