About the role:

Burra Foods is currently seeking an experienced Casual Maintenance Fitter to join our team to provide leave coverage for the team.

The Maintenance Fitter is responsible for the uptime of the manufacturing and packing equipment and will be involved in root cause analysis and daily input of information such as opening and closing work orders as well as the continual improvement in the plant.

Duties will include:

• Follow up on breakdowns determining root cause and eliminating reoccurrence and record all information accurately in the computerised maintenance program
• Take "start-to-finish" responsibility for each work order that the individual is allocated by the maintenance supervisor
• Ensure the planned maintenance tasks are completed on time
• Supervise and co-operate with external specialist contractors
• Follows established safety procedures, pays attention to personal safety and the safety of others.
• Effectively manage spare parts using the staging area and RF scanners.

Successful candidates will have:

• The ability to work shifts that are up to 12-hours – both day and night, including weekdays, weekends and public holidays as required.
• Mechanical Fitter qualification is essential for this role
• The ability to work with others to achieve required outcomes with a safety-first attitude
• Able to work unsupervised
• Experience and knowledge using SAP
• The ability to adapt a "team first" approach to work, ensuring relevant information is conveyed to other team members.
