About the role

Whites Prime Meats is a family-run business with a retail store located in Fountain Gate. We're on the lookout for a skilled Butcher to become part of our team in a bustling Westfield shopping centre. As a full-time Butcher, you'll handle everything related to our butchery, including meat prep and packaging, helping customers, and keeping track of inventory. This is a fantastic chance to work at a reputable, family-owned butcher shop and play a role in our ongoing success.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing and cutting meats for a big window display.

  • Slicing, prepping, and packaging different meats according to what customers want.

  • Helping customers choose products and giving tips on cooking methods and meal ideas.

  • Collaborating with top-notch products as part of a tight-knit, experienced team.

  • Upholding high food safety and hygiene standards throughout the butchery.

  • Keeping an eye on stock levels to guarantee a steady supply of quality meats.

  • Offering guidance and mentorship to our retail cashiers.

  • Playing a role in the overall smooth operation and efficiency of the retail shop.

What we're looking for

  • At least 3 years of experience as a certified Butcher, ideally in a retail environment.

  • In-depth understanding of different meat cuts, preparation methods, and food safety guidelines.

  • Strong customer service abilities and the knack for giving expert advice to customers.

  • Great attention to detail and a dedication to upholding high cleanliness and organization standards.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills to work well with other staff members.

  • A love for the butchery profession and a wish to help the business grow and succeed.
