Job DescriptionThis prestigious two-year colorectal fellowship is a unique opportunity for young Australian General Surgeons to pursue post-fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery through Epworth's formal affiliation with Cleveland Clinic.
The program offers exceptional clinical and research experience across two leading centres:
Year 1: Epworth Richmond, Melbourne, combining advanced clinical colorectal training with a structured research program. The Fellow will be enrolled in a higher degree (Master of Surgery or Doctor of Medicine) at the University of Melbourne, under supervisor supervision, undertaking clinical research projects with opportunities for publication and presentation at national and international meetings.
Year 2: Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA, in the Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, providing high-volume exposure to the full spectrum of colorectal diseases in a world-leading surgical unit.
This is an outstanding training opportunity for a highly motivated surgeon seeking to develop expertise in all facets of colon and rectal surgery, while building strong research and teaching credentials.

QualificationsEpworth Melbourne
- Current Medical Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra)
- FRACS General Surgery
Cleveland Clinic, Ohio USA
- ECFMG qualification following successful USMLE examination
- Ohio State Medical Board Registration
