About the Role

DCT Australia is looking for a reliable and experienced All-Round Yardie / Truck Driver to join our team.

This is a hands-on, varied role that involves strapping down loads, handling plant and equipment, operating loaders to load side tippers and assisting with maintenance around the yard.

You'll need to be confident working with machinery, able to work safely and efficiently, and have a solid understanding of day-to-day yard operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strap down and secure loads safely for transport
  • Carry out basic checks as part of Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) including badging, labelling, tyre pressure and fluid levels
  • Wash, clean and prepare vehicles for delivery
  • Use tools and equipment for tasks such as jump-starting, refuelling or changing tyres
  • Drive and relocate manual vehicles within the yard or compound
  • Operate loaders to load and move materials into side tippers
  • Operate forklifts for loading/unloading and general yard tasks
  • Assist with the maintenance and servicing of plant and equipment
  • General yard organisation — stock, deliveries, and housekeeping
  • Support the site and transport crews as required
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work area
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in yard, transport, or civil operations
  • Loader experience essential (side tipper loading experience preferred)
  • Forklift licence required
  • Mechanical experience or aptitude preferred
  • Current driver's licence (HR or above preferred)
  • Physically fit, reliable, and proactive
  • Strong understanding of safe work practices and load restraint
  • Team player with a good attitude and willingness to learn
