The Department
SBS Technology can be thought of as the 'engine room' of SBS. Our primary role is to enable and support the production, distribution, and transmission of content across television, radio, and online platforms. Our teams achieve this by working collaboratively to design innovative solutions and deliver end-to-end services for our business stakeholders.
The Role
Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, the Senior Storage Engineer is responsible for the oversight of day-to-day storage health as well as planning, design and implementation of new storage solutions, ensuring the success of the Infrastructure team in meeting their security and strategic goals.
They will apply proven communications and problem-solving skills to guide and assist the technology department and architectural functions on issues related to the design and deployment of networking systems and is expected to innovate and ensure quality is continuously improving, safeguard the integrity of data transmission, implementation and support meeting both industry best practice and SBS requirements.

About you
Technical Experience (required)
- A degree in computer science, other technical disciplines, or comparable qualifications
- Comprehensive experience with Dell PowerScale (Isilon) & PowerObject, HPE 3Par/Alletra, Nutanix Files, SAN technologies e,g Brocade/Cisco SAN switches.
- Extensive experience with OneFS administration, including SmartQuotas, SmartPools, SmartConnect, SyncIQ, SnapshotIQ, and Authentication (Active Directory/LDAP integration.
- Extensive experience with backup solutions, especially Veeam, with strong understanding of Veeam components (Backup Server, Proxy, Scale Out Repository, VeeamONE) and cloud integration.
- Extensive experience in handling Tape Libraries including Virtual Tape Libraries
- Operational experience with Data Replication, snapshots and Virtualisation Technology (VMWare)
Technical Experience (desirable)
- Familiarity with Nutanix
- Knowledge or experience of the Broadcast/Production sector
- Familiarity or experience using scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for routine tasks, reporting, and configuration management across storage and backup platforms.
- Exposure to cloud backup integration (Azure/AWS with Veeam or PowerProtect).
- Windows and Linux server administration
- Experience with AWS S3 (various storage classes like Standard, IA, Glacier) for backup targets, archival, and large-scale data storage.
- Certification (desirable)
- Dell ISM (DCA-ISM), NCDA etc
- Veeam - VMCE
- ITIL or other framework
- Vendor or training certification for Dell / NetApp / VMWare
- AWS Practitioner
- Good communication skills
- Customer-oriented, detail-oriented, and reliable working style
- Enjoy working in a team environment
